Name Brand: Drill & Slotted Rotors

I've found several different name brands of Rotors available... good prices on Ebay...

What rotors & pads are you running?

Any good experiences for recommendation on rotors & pads?

I am running Rotors Online drilled/slotted rotors and akebono pro act brake pads. Locks up my wheels on a dime.

I'm running RotorWorks SLOTTED rotors and Hawk ceramic pads. I HIGHLY suggest you only go with slotted. Drilled rotors tend to get heat cracks through the holes.

Some one said that if you dont intend to road race, then drilled and-or slotted rotors are a waste of money. I have the same set up as you, Paul. I dont know how good they work, cuz I haven't put them on yet.

I like them, but they make a little noise while braking ... well, more like you feel it than hear it. I like the combo. I needed new rotors when I put them on so decided to go this way. The old ones had been sitting for so long they were rusted beyond belief, lol!

To an extent that would be true since the reason for drilling/slotting rotors *besides cosmetics* is not so much to increase stopping power, but to reduce brake fade. Granted LT1 brakes fade extremely fast, but on the street there aren't many situations where you will ever get them to fade unless you drive like a total maniac.

I agree. Most daily driver duty cars won't need slotted and cross-drilled isn't really a good idea on anything other than race cars. I have slotted on the front of mine mainly because I got the pads, calipers, and rotors for $100 lol. I may get slotted rears just to match. The best place to spend money is on good pads and good fluid. A set of good quality smooth face rotors will most likely serve you as well as a slotted and/or slotted set unless you auto-x, road race, or just have too much fun on back roads... which is what lead me from stock 3rd gen disk/drum to 4th gen disk/disk. I really like Hawks HPS for DD and some performance driving. They are pretty hard to fade, quiet 90% of the time, last a good long while, and don't dust alot. Right now I'm trying out their performance ceramics.
Being able to lock your brakes up on a dime isn't terribly impressive as I could do that with my stock 3rd gen disks with HPS pads. The true test is the braking distance of the car at threshold braking.

I just put Power Slots rotors and Hawk pads on front this weekend and what a difference. It rains here a lot in Oregon and with that said the car never stopped good in the wet. Today on my way to work oh my what a feeling to push on the brakes in the rain and feel the car stopping like it was dry out..........

I got a good deal at the WS6 store......................

Make sure you bed your brake pads correctly.

SSBC turned out to be a great slotted replacement. Stops alot better, but I did do stainless lines as well. Also whatever plating is on the rotor, holds up pretty good. Been on for over 6 months and there is no rust. Only downside is it took almost 2weeks to get once ordered. (PST)
