Adjustable shocks are always woth the extra money if you're plannig to tune the suspension. I have an 88 that I'm planning on turning into a corner machine. If you want to dial in the suspension the key is to have some flexability. don't forget the spings. trailing arms. and sway bars to go along with this mod though. the best bet for the buck I have found so far is through tokico for the shocks(5-way adj) suspension techniques has a great set of sway bars and springs and are very affordable( via jegs) The coolest thing I found is that Lakewood is making trailing arms that are built to the same specs and poly-graphite bushings for almost $200 less than hotchkis pieces sell for, they are the main problem that 3rds have for wheel hop!.
So in a nutshell the turn of a screwdriver at the track is always better than dealing with a suspension that is dialed to setting, same goes for the street.
By the way all that was listed can be had for under 2 g's!! that's the best part!
