tire size?

Does anybody know the biggest tire size that can be fit on a stock 16 in rim under the rear of a z28? Everybody i talk to gives me diffrent answers and i am really confused Thanks.

255/50/16 is what i am running on a stock 16in rim. this is a 26in tall tire, that is 10in wide. to my knowledge it is the largest tire that fits on the stock rims. the tallest tire you can run is a 28in x 11in .... however this requires some mods to make them fit ... either a bfh, some griding, or even rolling the fenders.
