replacing ORIGINAL shocks

what would you recommend? i want stiffer, for slightly improved handling, but the G/F hates the rough ride. is there any happy middle ground on this issue. she says the IROC feels as if its about to fall apart on bumps and stuff...

I got KYB's on my car and they do me just fine. And they're not mean to my wallet either.

Fish ...if your GF likes a comfortable ride but you like handling ..KYBs are probably the answer. I have a pair of rears (put my Gabriels back on because they're stiffer in corners). The KYBs have 20 miles on them ...I'll sell to you for 15% off Summits already low price.

Your not going to get a comfortable ride out of a car that is made to hold the road like velcro!

I say KONIs...but, mine reminds you of a bobslede with rubber wheels. Sticks like glue, though.

Ok, maybe that was a little misleading. My car has aftermarket springs, bigger sway bars, and alot of other stuff that stiffens it up.
I'd say, with just the KONIs on a stock suspension would ride as good as (or, for my tastes) better than stock, but be somewhat stiffer depending on the setting you used.
