Manual steering box

Anyone running a manual steering box? I have a chance to get a Flaming river manual steering box ( FR1495 ) for a good deal. I was wondering what the feel was like, not to mention the weigh savings, I think I would shave around 25 lbs with this. What do you think?

I got one off of a '85 S-10 with manual steering ... The swap is easy to do (make sure your front wheels are straight and same with the wheel and its like 4-5 bolts) the ratio is abit slower on the S-10 box but nothing really bad (I have 4" wide front wheels so turning is easy on it) cleans the bay up alot!

I wont be running skinnys, you think it will be much of a difference ? That was my goal also, to clean up the bay and save some weight.

I would have to look around on afew sites (forgot it) but its probably about 1/4 slower then the factory unit ... But I'm also running the factory steering wheel as well might be different on say a 13" or smaller
