my weight Lose program

first off let me tell you that I am no spring chicken ok. I am almost 32yrs old & 5'3 & well over 200lbs

My husband has been bugging me for a couple years telling me I need to lose weight.

Well I have always started out good with the dredded tredmill, the stationary bike, or our glider. I never seem to get past the first week.

well a couple things have spurred me this time. Heck I finally get the summers off with my kids & they are young enough to still want to go riding bikes & having fun. Plus we leave for Reno in a month & 4 days

It started offically today this program. On Days that its to hot to be out side.(like today) I am going to work out on the tred mill under fans (no A/C in this house) only for as long as I can stand. today it was 16.01mins & .765 miles thats 3 min is running, 3 mins walking, 3 mins running & 7 mins walking.( at a faster pace than the first 3 mins of walking) the first 9 mins I did a .5mile not bad. by the mid of july I want to be running if not a full mile straight but at lease where I am doing a full mile under 16mins. (first of July to be having that walk time inbetween the runing down to 1min or less)

In the evenings I do Martial arts so that is an hour to 2hrs twice a week (I can also go during the morning hours twice a week as well if they are open) once I advance in my belt rank I can start going 5 days aweek or when the classes are small I can join in. On the days I dont do Martial arts I want to be out riding my bike with my kids in the evenings riding around the lake we live at. ( I know I can ride 1mile with out stopping but pushing it much pst that is deadly to me)

My main goal is the lose 40-50 lbs in about 2months ( or at lease by the 5th of Sept when i go back to work) then by the end of 2007 have 100 if not off.

so what you guys think?

Sounds like a good plan. My wife is doing similar stuff, and she's lost over 50 pounds so far since like February. Now I just need to find a way to stick with it so I can be in shape to take the physical for CPD next summer, and I'll be set.

Its great that youre getting down and dirty with losing weight However dont kill yourself in the process. 40-50 pounds in 2-3 months is alot and not typical at all. be careful!!!

I myself have been working on losing weight too. I run 1/2 mile in the morning, walk a mile in the evening, and run another 1/2 mile late at night. And I only eat my 3 meals and MAYBE one small snack (like an apple or a few pretzels) in the afternoon. I cut out ALL pop and only drink water. Im hoping by Bowling Green to have knocked off 10-15lbs. then by my 21st b-day in feb hopefully around 30-40. I cant over due or push it because of medical issues....but Im doing what i can!

goodluck to everyone on all their programs!!!

I agree that this is too much weight shed too quickly. I'd get your doctor's recommendation first for safety. Then go to the base and talk with the Nutritionist at the HAWC (Health and Wellness Center). They can develop a program and diet for you.

Sounds like a very strenuous(sp?) plan. Hope you don't over do it though. Good luck with it

If you need motivation, think of it this way. 50lbs would be .05 off your quartermile, cheapest (and healthiest) mod ever!

Are you making any changes to your diet at all? Cutting out sodas and french fries helped one of my friends lose a ton of weight. I myself should do the same, but I like carne asada and beer too much to stick to a decent diet. I still pass the Navy's PFA (Physical Fitness Assessment) with flying colors, but I've got a pretty serious gut. I'll probably lose 20 punds between september and april, ship food sucks.

ok I shouldnt of said lbs. how about inches off the waist?

husband measured me today

Today was day two of this & I did .866 miles in 17mins. For me thats not bad right now. Taking it nice & easy doing some running but mainly 3mph walking which for me is a fast walk since I run at 4mph lol

Well I have to go shower for Martial arts. (oh I didnt just start marital arts we have been doing it for a year now even though I took 6 months off)

diet and sugar free pops are bad.... if anything stick to water, seltzer, V-8, things liek that, fruit juice is also bad loaded with sugar, better to eat the real thing..... if you need something sweeter to drink try the 4C brand stuff they use splenda its better than the junk in diet pepsi and coke. Fried foods is a real good start, eat tuna and other fist, and skinless chicken. The losing 4lbs a week thing not being healthy well i have heard mixed things about that, theres a cut off point to where it is and isnt. I was always told if your 70lbs or more over than losing 7 should be your max until you get to about 30over then you should stick you 4 a week. just becareful. Diet pills dont work, its all about dedication. the treadmill is great but you have to keep your heart rate at about 120 to brun fat and its gooa be there for an hour or more. I used to find when my favorite program was on and do that and walk at a pretty fast pace. you have to push yourself, learned that in the Marine Corps. its all about the mind, you can always do more always go farther than your feel your body can go. its all in your head you have to push yourself, or have someone else push you and dont give up or let up. Hope this helps

lol our martial arts instructor will find out this today & didnt have time to tell him yesterday. because I went to do things while my kids were in class but I think two hours of Martial arts today & thursday & an hour tomorrow will do good for me.

We just dont do kicks & stuff like that he kicks our buts by making us do anywhere from 50 to 100 sit ups & push ups during his classes

Oh I have also started a light very light Akins type diet. not alot of carbs (low on the starchy type foods ) High in protien & fruits & Veggies
