i didnt really know were to post this but after i saw the post Cam-aro posted about that $900 IROC he was thinking about buying i relized i really want to get my car primer black again but needed to know how much paint does it take to paint a 3rd gen camaro,how much paint usaly cost and is there any thing else u have to mix in the pant before spraying it??? thanks

Rick would be the person to ask. Im using PPG's economy brand of paint called OMNI....besides for my sealer. my total for my sealer, reducers, hardener, catylst, base coat, clear coat was $556.91

but thats not all the costs you will have thats forsure.

man am i glad my uncle works for dupont, i get paint at cost...... that number right there that 550 is nuts...... but i say rattle can the beast

its nice to have connections with someone thats forsure.

We painted the 88 camaro with dupont for around 250. dupont compared to PPG is over-all cheaper anyways.

Im not the least bit upset with spending 550 bucks on a new paint job. Im just glad I have the dad with the knowledge of doing this stuff and friends who will give me pointers where needed....labor is the VERY costly item of painting any car at a shop. just like anything, if you can do it yourself....go for it.

so far into this project with all the new items and goodies....ive spent around 1400. thats barely half of what a buddy was going to charge me to paint my car at his shop.

Must be nice, i want to learn the correct way to paint a car, I have an idea and i'd probably would try it, but sometimes things look nicer when you know how to do it lol

someday when i have a garage/building put up ill be painting my 93, it will be a learning process.
