prayers for Mam

Hi guys. I am fairly new but from the family vibe it feels like it wouldn't matter if I signed up five minutes ago.
My husbands grandmother, affectionately known as Mam, has been fighting multiple myloma since 1993. It has come back and went into remission 3 times since then. Well she had been feeling I'll and having horrible back pains so she went to the doctor. After many ignorant doctors, it was determined that the disease was slowly progressing and coming back. It was also found that she has 3 compressed discs and needs surgery to repair them. They did a bone marrow test a few days ago and the doctors exact words were "it's back, and with a vengeance" So she is taking radiation before she begins her chemotherapy. It was discovered tonight that she is showing signs of staff infection.
I am askixng that everyone please pray for Mam. Her immune system is non-existent due to the radiation and we fear that staff will wreak havoc onher. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Thanks a lot guys. She had her back surgery this morning and they cemented the spaces in between her compressed discs and she made it through that fine. A little spacey from the meds but she is a trooper. Continuing the radiation until Friday and will begin chemo on Monday. Still showing signs of staff but haven't received a confirmation. Hopefully not. Thanks guys for the prayers. It is really appreciated!!

Well, she does have staph but it hasn't made it into her bloodstream yet, just urine. Her kidneys are at 25% function and she's got a wicked fever. Her back is fine but we just really don't know how bad the staph is or how the cancer is since she has been taking radiation. Tomorrow is the last radiation treatment and she starts back to chemo on Monday. Still not sure when she can come home. I think right now everyone is just hoping she gets to come back home at all. The doctor has suggested the entire family get together to speak with him and I am pretty sure that's not a good thing. Thanks slot guys for taking one to say a prayer for mam and our family. We appreciate it.

They let Mam come home on Monday. She still isn't over he staph but thankfully it hasn't made it to her blood stream yet. Her last round of radiation was today, now chemo starts twice a week. She has no more back pain but she is really stiff from laying in the hospital bed for two weeks. Hopefully she can get up and walk around a little binow that she is home. Hanks so much everyone for your prayers and support. Hopefully things will continue to get better and we can get the cancer back into remission. Also they seem to believer if her cancer gets better, her kidney function will begin to get better as well. So please pray for recovery and please say a little prayer that dialysis is not required as she has already had such a hard time. Thanks everyone very much.
