2 day old grandson needs your prayers

If all of you would please take a moment to say a prayer for my newborn grandson I would appreciate it very much. Trevor is only two days old and is having trouble holding his formula down. He has lost 2 pounds in 2 days. He is now down to the weight of 4.5 pounds.(he weighs less than a gallon of milk, basically about the weight of a half gallon) They added cereal to his formula to see if this will help. Today was the first time he has taken a full ounce at a feeding and the last we knew he was holding it down. If this cereal does not help they will have to put an IV in him and possibly a stomach scope to see what is going on.

Again if you could please say a prayer for him it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all. God Bless

No problem Julia. I appreciate your willingness to help me out.

So far he is holding down his formula/cereal. Good sign. They are telling his parents that if he keeps up holding down his food he will most likely be released tomorrow (Sunday)

I talked to a friend who works in admitting. She told me that he is listed as a level 1. Level one is considered a healthy baby. The levels go up for illness and complications.

So, is he allergic to the regular formula? If so, that sucks to have to buy that high dollar stuff. Glad he is doing better.

I dont think he is. They are still using the same stuff. I think he is what they call a wet burper. the cereal added to the formula seems to be helping. I think it adds substance which is allowing him to keep his food down instead bringing it up when he burps.

Nora, lifting up Trevor in Jesus' sweet name. Dear Father, we ask you to help Trevor hold down his food and gain his weight back. We ask you to comfort this family and help them place their faith in you. Protect and nurture this baby to perfect health. Amen.

Nora, my nephew had this same issue. They too added cereal to his formula, when he was released they said to get him a certain kind of formula (I will ask my brother when I see him tomorrow what it was) He lost a ton of weight and was in bad condition for a long time until they finally figured out that he was having reactions to the formula's. They put him on goat milk substitute and he was fine. He is now a happy and healthy 1 1/2 year old little guy that drinks regular milk every day.

I will keep the little guy in my thoughts and prayers. I hope this is just a very short term thing and they will let him go home and he can continue to keep the cereal down with his formula.

Update: Our grandson was released from the hospital and is on his way home. The cereal being added seems to have done the trick. Thank you all for your prayers.

It's little miracles like this that prove there IS a higher power that often lays his hand upon those in need.
