    AC evaporator

its leaking & temperature here starting to be higher so its time to fix the AC, the problem is all AC technicians here said that i have to take the dashboard out but after my searching on net, i found that i dnt have to take out the dashboard. im confused, so i decided to use my hands instead of paying large amount of money for labour. i just want to be sure is it true that i dnt have to take out dashboard?? is somebody replaced his ac evaporator before?? what are the steps to do this job??

To Get the dash out, pull the dash pad and kick panels and start removing screws. Look it over good and remember where everything goes.

Time depaend on how long it takes you to find a few hidden screws there are. plus once you have all the bolts removed not bending any brackets will help with reinstalling. i would say if its your first time 6 hrs

i checked shbox website & I found something wrong in my car. I found one of the connections to vaccum check valve is broken, thats why the air is not coming from dash vents. the problem is there is a leak in ac gas, all pipes hoses, compressor, & condenser have been checked & no leaks. my question is: can ac gas escape from vaccum check valve if its broken?? every time i filled the system with gas, a steam coming from dash vents then in the next day the system will not work

Sounds to me like your heatercore is bad. If steam is coming out of your vents, I would think it's the Heatercore. That is really easy to replace in these cars. It is located under the dash on passengers side of your car. Took me like 15 minutes to replace mine. I also think the A/C Evap is located in the same area. I would check that out before removing your whole dash, That is a lot of work ! Also a vacume hose leak would not cause your a/c to loose it's charge. Good luck !

You can also recharge your a/c system with freon that has an leak fix additive in it to fix any a/c leaks you may have. It is very rare for an evap to go bad. Good luck !
