Just wanted to give an update on Blue Thunder and the new set up.
Around Sept of last year the motor finally spun a rod bearing when i through the nitrous to it on the highway. After that i decided to go FI and get away from having to fill that dang bottle up all the time. So we finally decided to go with forged 5.3 from AES, a YSI (Race version) supercharger with custom brackets from AEICNC to place the SC on the passenger side. We went with a 4 in A2A intercooler with meth injection, 83lb injectors. Upgraded the 98 pcm to an 02 pcm with 3 bar OS.
The pulley on the SC should be around 15 psi for street driving for now. Plans are to switch to a 20ish psi pulley for the track. We finally got everything working together and should be going to the dyno within a few weeks to see what #'s Blue puts down.
When we first fired it up, we were having some serious fueling issues. We finally figured it out. The 3 bar OS was not allowing any fuel above 3500 rpms no matter how much fuel we through at it. We put a 2 bar OS in it and everything ran fine. So we are just going to run the 2 bar for now and have Hp tuners look at the 3 bar.
Here is the latest idle video. We still have a lot to do to the tune, but at least its running. Oh ya, the white glove is to keep any crawlies out of my AC tubes until i can get them extended and relocated.
