    It's been awhile..

How y'all been? I now drive an Abrams tank. (well, not really, but I was on the tank trails at Fort Riley today. I got some pics and vids, but most of the stuff was so insane it really did require both hands on the wheel

    For instance, the first trail:

Turn onto it, proceed straight down a big hill that is rutted from tank tracks, with holes and rocks in it. Levels out for awhile but it's got standing water there. Then start a climb up another STEEP hill that is covered in slick gloupy mud, AND there's a big huge log halfway up it. It's pretty much hammer down, ramp the log, and make it to the top. Now, the trees close in on the trail and before I got to the top i had counted 2 little trees I'd ran over

Anyways, here's some pics and vids. There's some cussing in one or two of them, so they may not be safe for work.

We had to back out of this trail, as the lead truck couldn't make it any farther. This rut was HUGE, and I was the "guinea pig" to try and figure out how it'd go. We had to back out and go turn around in a field, because there was a lot of water up around the bend and it'd be best to avoid reversing through that stuff.

    Here's some pics.

    Headin out there

This little section was TRICKY. You can't really tell by the picture, but you're in deep ruts and you have to make a 90* turn to the left, or you'll smack some trees. As soon as you make that turn, theres a big hill thats rutted and muddy. I think I could hear my CV shafts screaming while making that turn.

Here's the ruts that the video was of.
