What are the differences between driving a car that has efi and one that is carb'd?
throttle body or tuned port injected?......i run all carb, i never have to worry about crazy wiring, and sensors, injectors, accel pumps....none of that....running all carb is a dream, so simple and so reliable....plus i can upgrade to a hi performance carb in a matter of minutes, without having to worry about the ecm, brain, or whatever the hell it is...
Well I'm not referring to an fbody, I'm talking about how big of a switch it would be when I get my Chevelle done, from my 96 S10. The sort of things I'm talking about is about driveability during cold weather and hot weather. I know I'll get horrible gas milage (not due to the carb but because it's going to have a 454). But what sorts of changes would I have to make to my driving style. I think I read somewhere that a carbed motor can be a little fussy in the cold, is this true.
I guess what I'm really asking is are there anything special I need to do in order to get the best out the motor, something that someone with fuel injection doesn't have to worry about?
If both are set up properly, the driver won't know the difference.

My project cars have carbs..I enjoy workin on them alot more because they are so much easier. If you choke that 454 right on those real cold mornings, youll be fine.
Tune the carb right and it'll be fine. But yes, they can get tempermental. Kinda like a woman.
