was wondering if i should stick with my v6 and put a supercharger in it plus some other mods or purchase a V8 and try to take that route, any suggestions?

The V8 for sure brother...
Having the six... I can't really do that much as If i had the Z28.. So i would go with the Z28.

I would look for a wrecked complete car cheap- you will get so aggrevated with the "damn, this part doesn't match" - MUCH easier to strip one car and transform the good one than to buy bits and pieces and try to make it all work. Easier to get complete wire harness w/ computer, exhaust, everything you could possibly need with a donor/parts car. You should be able to find a wrecked whole car somewhere and your insurance won't know about the V8 so, cheaperThere are mods to do the six: long tube headers, borla and flowmaster actually make six cyl. cat backs, hypertech power programmer brags to give 10HP/21Foot pounds of torque, nitrous(I wouldn't push more than a 50-75 shot though). You can get the six to push 15's in the quarter with some work, maybe even high 14's but you'd do that with a stock V8. Tough call. As cramped in the engine bay as my LT1 is(yeah, I still float the six section occasionally), I would kind of be tempted to try the six route but I've already done the 8. It's snappy and fun but a monster to work on.
'97 LT1 Z28, Power programmer III, Granatelli MAF, Kooks stainless, emission-legal, longtube headers, Crane 1.6 Roller Rocker arms, SLP airfoil on 52mm GM modified throttle body, Underdrive crank pulley, MSD 6A ignition with 8.5 supercondutors, K&N cold air induction, K. B. double diamond subframe connectors, M6(T56) 6 speed with Hurst shifter, Alum. girdle on 10 bolt rear end, Corsa Pro-Series Cat-back.
never thought of doing that before, thats kinda a good idea...i know the owner of a junkyard here in town maybe i can see if there are any in there. My grandfather has a 350 with some other mods out of his El Camino i wanted to put in my camero but i never understood the whole wiring harness thing but i do now, but hey if u wanna work on a v6 you can use mine =-p
